Stella Szantova Giordano focuses her practice on risk transfer and advising on a variety of coverage issues. She zealously works towards solutions offering the best possible outcomes for her clients. In addition to being a member of the firm's Risk Transfer Group, Stella is also an active member of its International Group, frequently attending conferences in Europe and researching and writing on matters affecting international insurance markets. She also serves as a Content Editor for substantive content produced by SDV attorneys.
While in law school, Stella served on Law Review and was an extern at an international consumer goods manufacturer where she negotiated and drafted procurement contracts. It was there that she learned how important proper insurance coverage is to a business, as well as how to shift risk from that business to third parties.
Stella was previously a member of the Executive Committee of HYPE (Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs) and served as the vice-chair of its Community Involvement Committee, where she organized volunteer and community service events. She is currently actively involved in the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity, serving as a mentor to law school students.
Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, Stella came to the United States in 2000 after completing her graduate studies in her native country. In addition to fluent English, she also speaks Slovakian, Czech, Russian, German and recently learned Spanish. Stella loves to travel, cooking and going to the theatre. She resides with her husband in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
