Edwin L. Doernberger and Jeffrey J. Vita spoke at the ConnACCA seminar on “Commercial Insurance: What Every General Counsel Should Know” in Hartford, CT. This seminar discussed an insurer’s duty to defend and indemnify a company. It focused on the coverage afforded policyholders under Commercial General Liability, Directors & Officers, Professional Liability, Builders Risk, and other insurance policies. It analyzed covered claims, including property damage, bodily injury, business interruption and extra expense claims. It further discussed the recovery of attorney’s fees, as well as when and how to tender claims and to whom and how to respond to denials of coverage and reservation rights.
