Commercial Insurance: What Every General Counsel Should Know

Commercial insurance policies provide protection from litigation, economic loss, property damage and bodily injury claims. In addition to a discussion of your insurers’ duty to defend and indemnify your company, this presentation focused on the coverages afforded policyholders under Commercial General Liability, Directors & Officers, Professional Liability and Builders Risk insurance policies. We analyzed covered claims including property damage, bodily injury, business interruption and extra expense claims, and the recovery of attorney’s fees. Attendees also learned when and how to tender claims and to whom and how to respond to denials of coverage and reservations of rights.
