Celia Waters (née Keniry) became an Attorney with SDV in the fall of 2014. Exclusively representing policyholders, Celia focuses her practice on complex insurance litigation matters with a special focus on power, oil, and energy. Since joining the firm, she has dedicated her time to a number of complex Builders Risk insurance coverage disputes on large construction projects and central utility plants across the country.
Celia has also worked on professional liability coverage disputes associated with design-build projects relating to propane dehydrogenation and hydrocracking plants located in the Middle East.
After receiving two Bachelor’s degrees, a minor and a paralegal certificate from the University of Connecticut, Celia worked as a paralegal for a year before attending law school. While at the
University of Connecticut School of Law, Celia was a member of the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal and was elected Symposium Editor. After taking a number of insurance law classes, she decided to dedicate her career to this area of law.
Celia is currently enrolled in the LL.M. program at the University of Connecticut School of Law and is only two classes away from obtaining her LL.M. in Insurance Law.
