Janie Reilly Eddy focuses her litigation practice exclusively on resolving insurance coverage disputes on behalf of policyholders. She represents policyholders of all shapes and sizes, ranging from individuals to non-profits to international companies. She primarily handles construction cases, risk transfer issues for upstream clients, and policyholders in mass tort aviation litigation. She also works closely with brokers in an advisory role. As a former insurance defense attorney, Janie is most comfortable in the courtroom, where she handled the defense of injury cases from inception all the way to trial. Her experience includes significant discovery and motion practice as well as settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Janie is often invited to speak and give industry-wide presentations on policyholder coverage issues facing the construction industry. She practices extensively in both state and federal courts nationwide and is a resident of the firm’s Northeast office.
Outside of the workplace, Janie is an active member of the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County (the first in Connecticut), co-chairing the League’s social activism programs for early childhood education and leadership initiatives for women in the Greater Bridgeport area. In her prior life, she was a Division I soccer goalie at Boston University and was she was awarded the Women's Soccer American East Conference Scholar Athlete every year throughout her college career. In 2006, Janie was honored with the distinction of All-American.
A native of sunny Florida, Janie currently resides with her husband, daughter, and two dogs in Monroe, Connecticut.
