Kelly Johnson has broad experience in all aspects of litigation, including on the state, federal and appellate levels, with a particular focus on complex commercial litigation. Kelly has represented clients in a diverse range of matters such as business contracts, construction claims, copyright infringement, and claims under bankruptcy law and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. She has tried and mediated several high- value matters to successful conclusion, including a claim arising from strategic defaults on multiple business loans that resulted in judgments in excess of $15 million.
In her time at SDV, Kelly has represented clients in their claim and coverage disputes with carriers under a wide variety of policies, including commercial general liability, builder's risk, commercial property, homeowner's, crime, and cyber insurance policies.
While in law school, Kelly interned with the Levy County Office of the State Attorney, 8th Circuit, and the Collier County Office of the State Attorney, 20th Circuit. She was also the recipient of several awards and honors, including Outstanding Graduate and Order of the Barristers for the UF Trial Team.
Kelly is a native of Naples, Florida, and still resides in her hometown, where she enjoys the beach, boating, and sunsets.
