An expert panel will explore the current state of cyber risk and its impact on the construction industry. Discussion will include typical risks such as business interruption losses due to network downtime and state mandated penalties for allowing personal/confidential information to be compromised. The seminar will also highlight some of the unique issues and challenges that contractors face –including increased exposure to the risk profile of the contractor’s clients, and how to navigate the blurry line between the digital realm and traditional property damage. You will also learn about the effects of real world cyber-attacks, risks created by the use of drones on construction sites, and strategies to maximize insurance recovery under “traditional” insurance and stand-alone cyber policies.
Learning Objectives:
- To gain an understanding of current cyber security concerns through an in depth discussion of common cyber risk exposures.
- To discuss about the current uses, best practices and associated risks created by the use of drones on construction sites.
- To review traditional coverage options and understand how those models are becoming increasingly unreliable and may not cover the risks associated with cyber security.
- To learn about standalone cyber risk coverage and how and why the market is moving towards it.
