Alexander G. Hopkins Of Counsel

Alex Hopkins recently joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing more than two decades of experience as a Claims Executive and Legal Counsel in the insurance and reinsurance industry. He has a proven track record managing complex litigation, advising domestic and international (re)insurers, and leading high-performing claims teams across a broad range of exposures, including directors and officers liability, professional liability (E&O), employment practices liability, fiduciary liability, cyber, transactional, healthcare, and mass tort/environmental matters.

Before joining the firm, Alex held leadership roles at Travelers – Bond & Specialty Insurance, most recently serving as AVP & Counsel for International Management Liability Claims. He also practiced law at Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP (now Troutman Pepper Locke LLP), focusing on complex commercial litigation, reinsurance disputes, and coverage litigation, and served as Executive Counsel at The Hartford.

Alex is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Illinois, New York, and before the Supreme Court of the United States. He also holds multiple advanced insurance designations, including CPCU, ARM, ARe, ACRM, RPLU+, CPLP, and ExecPLP.

Alex earned his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
