David G. Jordan Partner
Dave has extensive experience with matters involving unique fact patterns where creative thinking and novel arguments are required.
David G. Jordan focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage matters involving a broad spectrum of policy lines, including Commercial General Liability, Professional Liability, Builders Risk, Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI), Directors & Officers/Employment Practices Liability, Life and Workers Compensation. He has extensive experience in his field of practice, assessing and litigating insurance matters and particularly enjoys insurance coverage matters involving unique fact patterns where creative thinking and novel arguments are required. He prides himself on his ability to think outside of the box on complicated insurance issues to achieve optimal results for his clients.
Over the last decade, David’s advocacy on behalf of policyholder clients has impacted Connecticut insurance coverage law. In the matter of Capstone Building Corp. v. American Motorists Ins. Co., David won a significant victory for construction industry policyholders in the Connecticut Supreme Court, with the Court holding that property damage to a construction project caused by defective work can be considered an “occurrence” under the law. In the case of Nash Street, LLC v. Main Street America Assurance Co., David acted as lead counsel on a significant insurance coverage case where the Connecticut Supreme Court, in a case of first impression, held that insurers owe a duty to defend their policyholders in circumstances where the meaning of an insurance policy exclusion at issue is unsettled law in Connecticut and is subject to differing interpretations by courts in other jurisdictions.
David also frequently collaborates with insurance brokerage firms to present educational lectures and webinars on various topics and has written and co-authored numerous articles and other publications on evolving issues in insurance law.
While in law school, David was an Executive Editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. He and his family currently reside in Cromwell, Connecticut. In his free time, David enjoys playing tennis, reading historical novels and biographies, and can often be found watching his three children participate in their many extracurricular activities
