Kayla S. O’Connor is a seasoned litigator with experience representing policyholders in first party disputes and insurance bad faith actions.
Kayla S. O’Connor is a highly experienced litigator well-versed in the complexities of insurance coverage law. She has represented policyholders facing a wide variety of insurance-related issues, including first party coverage disputes, insurance bad faith actions, and construction defect litigation. Kayla routinely handles insurance-related claims both in the pre-suit stage and throughout litigation, and is readily familiar with the issues frequently faced by homeowners and commercial policyholders. Kayla has also handled numerous policy-based appraisal and arbitration proceedings to resolve coverage disputes in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Prior to joining the SDV team, Kayla’s practice included general civil litigation matters. In addition to representing policyholders, Kayla has represented property owners in construction defect litigation and has handled a variety personal injury and landlord-tenant matters. She has represented clients in both bench and jury trials as well as in mediation and arbitration.
Kayla is a cum laude graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law, where she was a member of the Honors program and received numerous awards for her outstanding performance.
Kayla is a resident of the firm’s Northeast office and currently resides in Rhode Island.
