Nora G. Liebowitz Associate

Nora G. Liebowitz (née Gray) is actively involved with the firm’s Risk Transfer practice group through her work with the LaborGuard and Skyline programs. She regularly performs contract and policy reviews on behalf of corporate policyholders to ensure compliance with state and federal insurance requirements. In addition, Nora’s practice includes routinely researching and resolving claims involving directors and officers policies and cyber risk exposure.

While in law school, Nora was inducted into The Society of Bar and Gavel, an honors society that recognizes outstanding leadership, service to the legal community, and dedication to goodwill. Nora was also a Miami Law School Ambassador and served as Vice President of the Cardozo Legal Society. In addition, during law school, Nora interned with the Honorable Margaret A. Chan in the New York City Supreme Court Civil Branch.

Nora’s background includes extensive experience with child advocacy efforts through her pro bono work at the Children and Youth Law Clinic. She represented young adults in the foster care system in their civil legal matters pertaining to dependency. She served as Vice President of the Child Advocacy and Family Law Society as a law student and served as a Guardian ad Litem in the 11th Circuit of Florida. For the past several years, Nora has been involved with Lawyers for Children America, a leading non-profit child advocacy organization protecting the rights of children who are victims of abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Nora has been providing pro-bono legal representation in Connecticut involving case consultation, accompanying abused and neglected children to court hearings, and making sure the child has access to needed community resources.

Nora initially joined SDV through the firm’s Summer Associate program, returning as an Associate following graduation from law school. She recently served as Co-Chair of Insurance Law for the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section and is currently the Pro Bono Director for CBA’s Young Lawyers Section. In her spare time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, and baking.
