Tara Cooley Associate

Tara Cooley is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Northeast office. She brings a diverse background in higher education, community law, and animal advocacy to her role at SDV, offering a well-rounded perspective on legal strategy and client service.

Tara plays a key role in the firm’s Subcontractor Insurance Review Program (SIRP), where she collaborates closely with clients to evaluate and enhance contract language and insurance coverage. Her work focuses on optimizing risk transfer mechanisms to ensure clients are well-positioned in the event of a claim.

Before joining SDV, Tara served as Director of the Connecticut Community Law Center and as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She holds a B.S. from Meredith College, an M.P.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. Additionally, she earned an LL.M. in Animal Law from Lewis & Clark Law School.
