William E. Phillips IV Associate

William E. Phillips IV is an Associate in the firm’s West Coast office where he focuses his practice on litigating complex insurance coverage issues on behalf of policyholders. Prior to joining SDV, Will litigated cases in various industries, including real estate, construction, business, employment matters, and environmental law.

Will is a graduate cum laude of California Western School of Law, where he was on the Dean’s Honor List for four semesters. During law school, Will also received the Academic Excellence Award for the Fall semester of 2020 and the Spring semester of 2021, and was a member of the Public Service Honor Society. He was also awarded a Merit Scholarship from California Western School of Law.

Will graduated from Regis University summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences / Liberal Studies. After graduation from college and before law school, Will started a business with his wife where customers could rent out Moto Guzzi motorcycles and Vespa scooters with sidecars to tour San Diego.

Will and his wife reside in Southern California where they enjoy traveling to unique places for great food, and spend their free time surfing, kiteboarding, wakeboarding, sailing, spear fishing, and boating.
